"All Gave Some...Some Gave All"
New Jersey's Order of the Purple Heart
organization, Glassboro Chapter 336, officially
became recognized as the "DJ Bentz III" chapter,
Chuck Byers, commander.

Michael Jones' rendition of the national anthem got
the event started with the emotion that such an event
warrants. David Dowell, a composer and singer,
added significant meaning to the event when he sang
a song that he composed called "Heroes".

A special thank you goes to the Glassboro VFW
and the South Jersey Vietnam Veterans Association
for all of their help. Jack Haas and Charles
Gallagher were wonderful hosts.

This event included a number of guests and
speakers and the David J. Bentz III Scholarship
Fund would like to thank each and everyone for
their kind words and warmest sympathies. The
support of the local community, the Patriot Guard
riders, the Honor Guard, and everyone else that was
there that day was extremely moving and important
to the families of David J. Bentz III. A big THANK
YOU to all! Words cannot say thank you enough,
however, by your presence the families felt the
warmth and the importance of what our veterans
have done and continue to do.

“Life has been compared
with a battle and rightly
so, as each day comes up
with a new set of
challenges which we must
meet. One can just not
shy away from the
problems if he has to
survive. He has to meet to
challenges with courage.”
